Organic farming

Who doesn’t love a healthy homely meal? How heavenly would you feel to have a happy platter of rice and a delectable veggie stew bowl? Phenomenal! This has been possible for us as people discovered farming. All living beings are dependent on food. In the wild, animals find food through hunting.

In ancient days human beings too hunted in the wild, but as soon as they realized the technique called farming, their whole life changed forever. Farming was considered the most sacred of all and many festivals and practices related to farming gathered momentum. Kerala is one among the many states where agriculturehad been a major source of livelihood.

But travelling through all these centuries now we reached a place where we are still eating the products obtained out of agriculture, but have partially neglected the importance of the profession, farming. In early 2000s, people, in general, became interested in white-collar jobs, and this reduced number of young people entering the field. The unexpected changes in climate, general economic conditions and various other factors made lives of farmers difficult to an extent that thousands of farmers the field. The people who worked so hard in the scorching sun so that the people of his land could eat well decided to give up. Kerala’s history is intertwined with agriculture and the change in this behaviour felt unsettling on many levels.
