LocoKerala Certifications
Locokerala has obtained more than ten certifications for the agricultural products that are sold. The certifications vary from products to products. Not every product has all of the certifications that Locokerala owns. Kindly see the packing of the products to find the respective certification.
Products displaying our green logo are full ‘Organic Certified’. All the processes starting from plantation to packing have been done organically. The cultivation involves the use of biological methods which balance the ecology. The farmers completely avoid petrochemical fertilizers to promote sustainable development.
Products displaying our Yellow logo are ‘Organically Grown’. This category contains products produced by small farmers who use purely organic techniques, but who are not focused in registering for certification. It also includes few processed foods, which do not contain any synthetic preservatives, colors, flavors or additives.
Products displaying our Purple logo are ‘Quality Certified’. That means manufacturers, traders and every other operation in the production chain are being inspected and certified every three months by our quality assurance team. This ensures compliance or equivalency with the product requirements of the intended standers.
National And International Certifications
USDA Organic are organic agricultural products certified with the USDA organic standards which is regulated by USDA National Organic Program. Organic certification verifies that farms or handling facilities observe the organic regulations and allows producers to sell, label, and represent their products as organic.
Organic agriculture Europe certification Label permits the organic products to be marketed within the European Union. This means that the respective company have fulfilled strict conditions on how they must be produced, processed, transported and stored. It applies to agricultural raw materials and food products.
Indian Organic is a mark of promise for organically grown food and processed food made in India. The certifying agency and regulatory authority is APEDA (Agriculture and Processed food products Export Development Authority). This is an accredited certification and legally valid for importing food products. APEDA runs under the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP). It is also recognised by the US and the European Union.
Agmark Certification Label acts as a benchmark for quality and is equivalent to declaring the authenticity of the products. It is governed by the Agricultural Produce (Grading and Marking) Act, 1937 (as amended in 1986).
GI Symbol guarantees the consumers that the GI value of the product has been tested by an accredited laboratory and is accurate. Foods that carry the GI Symbol have been assessed against a range of strict nutrient criteria in line with International Dietary Guidelines making them among the healthiest choices in their category.
Good manufacturing practices or GMP certification are the methods required to adhere to the guidelines prescribed by agencies that control the authorization and licensing of the production and trade of food, beverages, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, dietary supplements, and medical devices. The rules that govern each industry may differ but the principal objective of GMP is always to prevent harm from occurring to the end-user.
